| Classical Chinese Medicine, is a medical healing art with an elegant
approach to the diagnosis and treatment of disease. It boasts over
2,000 years of clinical application. Chinese Medicine is a complete
and primary system of medicine and can be used for any health issue.
Chinese
medicine views the body as a balanced and dynamic interplay of the
forces of nature: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Each of these
elements corresponds with “energetic” organs of the
body and it is the harmony, or disharmony, between these forces
or organs that creates health and disease.
Chinese
diagnosis is similar to that of Naturopathic medicine in that a
detailed history and exam are used to find the root of the disease.
However, the physical exam in Chinese medicine includes a pulse
and tongue diagnosis. Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Moxabustion, Cupping,
Massage, and Qi Gong are used to help the organs regain balance,
eliminating the cause of disease, which in turn brings about resolution
of the symptoms the patient was experiencing.
